Thanksgiving Folk Mass & Lunch

Let us make Thanksgiving Day, November 23, a very special day of celebration and thanksgiving to God for countless blessings.

The youth of our parish will help prepare for and participate in the Mass at 11 a.m. The music preference of our youth is folk, which will be coupled with our organ and choir.

Following Mass, the annual Thanksgiving lunch will be served by the Youth Group in the Parish Hall. No one is excluded from this meal, which is intended for those who are alone or elderly.

Let us share this day as a parish family. Spread the word!

People Who Deserve Our Thanks

As we approach the Holy Seasons of Thanksgiving and Advent, we appeal to all parishioners and visitors to reflect on your involvement in your Church regarding your gifts of Time, Talent and Treasure.

Bob, Ray, Dawn, Michael and Ernesto take turns opening the church and setting up for Mass every morning. Linda and her helpers collect all the food donations every Friday and feed the poor at Saint Laurence Homeless Day Shelter. Stephanie collects bags of food for the food pantry. Robert visits prisons to spend time consoling and praying with inmates. Every Saturday, Susanne, Ernesto and Alex vacuum, clean and arrange the church and chapel for the weekend services. Frankie selects and arranges the flowers. Marie launders the linens. Ginette cleans and restocks the Vigil candleholders every Wednesday. The choir spends hours every Thursday night preparing for the weekend liturgies. Donna oversees and provides food for all occasions.

These stories are examples of the Time and Talent given by the real people of our church. They receive no payment for their efforts; they do it simply for the glory of God. There are many more people who are example s of ministry in our church. Don’t feel left out; your church needs your talents also, so please offer your service. Thanks to all.
