This week’s print sheet from the Archbishop’s office includes the names of those who have not as yet contributed to this year’s appeal for the poor, the ABCD. My name is on the list, and I am embarrassed to admit that I have not yet made my pledge; but I plan to do it this week!
I know it has been a taxing year for all of us, struggling to support our Expansion Project and the Auction & Gala, both necessary and very successful for our Parish. It is my fervent hope that we can now remember once again the big picture of our Archdiocese, namely, the care of the poor, as we support our Archbishop and his project. We are now 50 percent short of our goal.
I am well aware of the generosity of our people in the past, and should circumstances have changed, please do not feel any pressure to contribute. Pledge envelopes are available for your convenience in the pews.
With gratitude to you and your family for all your support and sacrifices,
Our annual Saint Patrick’s Day Party will take place at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, in the Parish Hall.
The menu will feature corned beef and cabbage. There will be dancing to music provided by our local DJ Eugene Reidy, and the Rondeau School of Irish Dancers will perform at 7 p.m.
The cost is $20 per person. Stop by the Parish Office or call 954-943-9154 for tickets.
Saint Paul’s Council of Catholic Women will have its monthly meeting following the 11 a.m. Mass on Wednesday, March 2. It will include a screening of Archbishop Fulton Sheen’s short film, “The Wit of the Irish.” Lunch will be provided. Looking forward to seeing you there!
The recent Auction & Gala was a very successful event thanks to the efforts and vision of so many people too numerous to name – all under the watchful eyes of Dee-Ann Leone and Jeff Graham.
Tom and Cathy Sheehan aroused great attention with their gift of a car, as did Robert and Sonja Moran with their donation of a wave runner and the underwriting of the dinner. Of course, our DJ Eugene Reidy and our auctioneer Gordon were centerpieces, without whom the evening could not have been so enjoyable.
