Come shop for new and gently used items — all of them unique — in the Parish Hall from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 2.

In the meantime, look around the house for items you’re willing to donate to be sold. It’s the best way to make room for something new! Drop your donations at the Parish Hall between Friday, January 25, and the day of the sale.

Questions People Ask: Baptism of Our Lord

Q. Is it true that Jesus did not know He was the Son of God until He heard the voice from Heaven say, “You are my Son, Beloved,” on the occasion of His baptism?

A. This theory is strongly rejected by Pope Benedict XVI in his book “Jesus of Nazareth.” Such theories, he says, belong to the category of a ‘Jesus novel,’ a book that attempts a psychological story, while using a very liberal reading of the Scripture and a lot of conjecture. The mysterious union with divine and human natures in Jesus is beyond our psychological explanations.
